• 1 lb. bag Santa Maria Pinquito beans by Rancho Gordo – this lovable heirloom is loaded with California history. Most of us thought the Santa Maria “Pinks” were brought in with the migrant citrus workers of the 1950s (who also introduced us to the tri-tip) but now there’s some thought that it was a crop during the Mission era. Whatever its origins, it’s delicious and meaty and the perfect match for any barbecue, chili or even salad.
• 1.2 oz. jar Smoky Piment d’Ville red chile powder by Boonville Barn Collective – this sweet and spicy basque chile’s mild flavor makes it an easy to use, versatile chile powder that is used like black pepper in France. Smoky Piment d’Ville is made from the same Espelette chiles as our regular PDV. This batch of Smoky Piment d’Ville was smoked with mesquite while it dried.

• 1.8 oz. bar Bourbon Cask Aged Unroasted Dark Chocolate by Raaka – Using single origin Tanzanian cacao nibs in spent bourbon casks for two months creates a deeply nuanced bar with a cocktail-like vibe: oaky and smooth, with a hint of cherry cordial on the finish. During the aging process, the nibs soak up the essence of bourbon stored in the oak before they are ground and mixed with a house blend of cane and maple sugar. Raaka’s best selling bar and 2013 Good Food Award Winner.

• 2.5 oz Organic Applewood Smoked Uncured Bacon Crumbles by North Country Smokehouse – These are SO GOOD! They start by selecting the finest pork bellies from their very own farms and filling the smokers with fresh Applewood. They then bathe the bellies in their New England Maple syrup brine, smoke them low & slow for hours on end, and then crumble them into hearty, irregular-shaped pieces that are anything but a bit. Worlds apart, these savory smoked crumbles have a balanced flavor and perfect bite.
